The Planning of Action |All Helsings| « Thread Started on Feb 25, 2007, 6:05pm »
╬ The grand Foyer of the Helsing Manor. Who would ever think that this area would become the place where the great family would pull together and make a plan to save lives. Not only their lives, but the lives of all the mortals in Transylvania.
Velkan stood to one corner of the foyer, looking out one of the many windows that lined the room. It was the middle of the day and the suns rays fell to the earth without anything to cover them up. This was why he planned to gather the family today, to warn them of the danger that would soon be laid upon them.
Sighing, he turned away from the window and made his way to the liquor cabinet. Even though he was sixteen years of age, he needed something to calm his nerves so he could say all that he had to without messing it up. Pouring himself a glass of sherry, Velkan then moved to the chaste lodge that was located in the center of the room. He lowered himself on to the seat, leaning his arms against his elbows, the glass of sherry hanging from his right hand as he waited for his family to arrive. He had written them all letters and asked for them to meet him here, since they needed to plan on the actions they were going to take. ╬

Anna had received his letter earlier that day, since the 'death' of Dagan, Anna had been a lot more distant to her family. Leaving early in the morning and returning late at night.
Walking down to the Foyer she didn't smile her face was set in a firm pout and you could see the strain on her face not to burst into tears. It seemed her worst nightmare had come true and at the moment her desperate attempts to keep a straight head were in vain. The candles flickered shadows onto the cold stonewall as Anna finally entered the foyer. She paused in the shadows unseen watching Velkan...Velkan - that name sent a pang through her heart, reminding her of her younger days with her brother...when life seemed so simple. She could practically smell the sent of the flowers and feel the touch to the grass on her fingertips as she played in the fields with her brother...
She was jolted back to this reality when she heard the chinking of glasses; she looked up watching Velkan taking a glass of sherry. Running her hands through her hair tiredly she stepped into sight walking around and leaning on one of the tables she looked at her son sadly "Velkan..." she whispered.

╬ Lifting his head, Velkan turned to look at his mother. He took in the redness of her eyes, which gave tale that she had been crying, still over the death of Dagan. Giving her a sad smile he downed the sherry and placed the glass on the floor of the Foyer.
This was going to be a hardship, discussing what they need to do, but it would rip open the wounds in everyones hearts. The members of the Helsing family was still in mourning from their lost, and many humans in the town were also mourning. Though it was only the beginning. There would be so much more death to come, and with that the pain of knowledge hurt.
"Mother, sit before you fall."
The words were harsh and barely crossed the distance between them. ╬

Anna raised an eyebrow at her son as she walked futher into the room "You know I dont like you drinking, Velkan" she said folding her arms, "And please dont speak to me like that" she added but nether the less she did perch on the large oak table which ran down the back of the room. Anna had been very snappy with everyone latly maybe it was her way of trying to regain control over her family which since Dagans death had been spirling out of control.
She watched her son for a minute before speaking "So why did you send me that letter?" she asked "Did you send it to Gabriel and kendra?" she asked quietly.

Velkan bent his head, looking away at his mother. He shouldn't have talked to her in that tone of voice, but like her, his nerves were shot.
"I'm sorry for speaking to you in such a way. And it was just that glass of sherry."
His left hand lifted to his head and he rubbed the back of it. Without looking at her, Velkan knew that she was resting against the oak desk, and though it wasn't truly sitting, he was glad she was off her feet. The trouble with Dagan was hard for them all, but seemed worst for his parents, since they had to deal with the blunt of it. He'd seen Dagan's body that dreadful night, but wasn't there to witness the gruesome murder of his brother like his parents were.

Within that moment of the two talking about the older Helsing and herself, Kendra walked into the Foyer, the note Velkan had written to her crumpled in her hand. She paused within the doorway taking in the site of her mother and brother. Anna was resting against the oak desk in the room and Velkan was was sitting upon the chaste, an empty liquor glass on the ground near his feet. Shaking her head, she looked about. "Where's Papa?" She asked lightly, looking at her mother.

Anna nodded “Just a glass of sherry?” she said “One day its just a glass of Sherry the next a barrel of beer” She stated “Don’t turn to drink Velkan it turns even the nicest of men into dead beats…I don’t want that for you” she added.
Anna glanced towards the door as Kendra walked in, Anna shook her head “He should be arriving soon” she said glancing back at the floor awkwardly.

Velkan closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead with right hand. "Mother, please, it was a small glass to calm my nerves."
He was just as stressed and agitated as she was and he didn't need to be snapping at her, especially over a glass of sherry, but it was the reaction that came from him when pegged about it. Huffing a sigh, he relaxed against the chaste, his back resting against the pillowed support.
"Hopefully he comes soon, so we could get this going."
He muttered under his breath as he messaged his temples, trying to ward of the headache that was questing to barge into his head.

Gabriel walked inside the house and pulled of his hat and coat and put it on the hangers."You wrote?"He said jokely trying to lighten the horrible mood everyone seemed to be in,which was un-Gabriel like since he was usually in the worst mood.

Anna sent a glare in Gabriel's direction, how dare he make jokes when they'd been put in such a situation? Anna looked at the floor composing herself, then she looked up "Yes Velkan, why did you ask us all here?" she asked, deciding to leave the arugment about his drinking, she would deal with it later.

Nodding a simple greeting to his father, Velkan stood. He seemed unsteady for a second, but quickly pulled himself together. Walking to the far side of the room, his hands placed behind his back in a fashion, he began to explain.
"I have received word that we're all in danger. And not just the family, the people in the village as well."
He said steadily, silently hoping that his parents didn't question where he had gotten that information. It was dreadful to lie to his parents, since they simply saw through the farce and would know that it was a fib.

Gabriel ignored the glare from Anna,and instead nodded to both her and his son.Hearing the info from Velkan,he wrinkled his eyebrows and suspiciously asked:"Where did ya find that out?"He knew his sons to well to know that they were the exact copy of him,and he could get annoying sometimes,Gabriel had noticed.He folded his arms,his dark,serious eyes looking suspiciously at Velkan.

He should have known that it was going to come down to him being asked were the information had come from. Clenching his jaw, Velkan looked his father straight in the eye.
"A valuable source. We need to plan on an action to take. We can't let those blood sucking demons plan this!"
Striding to the window of the large foyer, he looked out across the land in which he took so much pride in. The sun shone through everything, no cloud marring the sky to block it's beauty.
